Are YOU a working mom who has had to choose between a promotion (or growing your business) and family? Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg in her book, "Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead," has brought the discussion of women in the workplace to the forefront by challenging the notion that working moms must choose between work and family or that the mommy track is the best option for all working mothers. Still Hope Foundation is hitching its wagon onto the topic by launching an exciting new initiative called She'source! Join us on Friday, September 6th, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Hilton Oceanfront Hotel in Virginia Beach for a dynamic and enlightening forum that includes lunch and a panel discussion, featuring local corporate and entrepreneurial women as they dialogue about "Leaning, Leading or Living: Balancing Business and Life." Tickets are only $40. Group discounts and sponsorship opportunities are available.
You can still purchase a ticket at the door for She'source! Please call 757-955-8436 for more information.
We are especially excited about the latest addition to our Comedy Show - the very funny Anthony Anderson of NBC's Law & Order. He'll share the stage with Theo Von, from TBS show "Deal With It" and George Wilborn, former co-host of the Michael Baisden Show. We'll also have Mark Robinson with us, one of the hottest comedians, magicians and illusionists in the country. For only $55, this is the best ticket in town for a Vegas-style evening of comedy, right here in Virginia Beach! Get ready for a night full of laughter and good times!
Come mix, mingle, and "roll the dice" with some of your favorite celebrities at the Hilton Oceanfront in Virginia Beach. You'll enjoy casino games, luxury prizes, delectable hors d'oeuvres, wine tasting, and live music by Strictly Bizzness that will have you dancing the night away! Attire is from 'surfer' beach casual to 'James Bond' black-tie- after all, it's VAgas! Tickets to Casino Night are only $100; a fun event for a great cause.
The evening doesn't end with Casino Night. Just take a few steps next door to Neptune's Park. We're transforming the park into a LIVE VAgas show with the musical charm of legendary, "Rock-N-Roll Hall of Famer," Eddie Levert, of the four-time Grammy nominated O'Jays. Tickets are only $25 or find out how you can reserve a table for 10!
Top off an exhilarating weekend with a relaxing morning on the links. Golfers will play alongside some of their favorite celebrities for a fun and competitive tournament. Sports greats like Doc Rivers, Patrick Ewing, Moses Malone, Calvin Murphy, Bruce Smith, Aaron Brooks, Byron Scott, Sam Cassell, Jeff Van Gundy, and many more, have participated in past classics-each year the list grows. This year's tournament will be held at Cahoon Plantation in Chesapeake, 1501 Cahoon Pkwy., Chesapeake, Virginia-featuring one of the smoothest, greenest playing surfaces available on the only bent grass golf course from tee to fairway to green.
Still Hope Foundation, Inc., formed in October, 2007, was established in an effort to lighten the parenting responsibilities borne by single mothers throughout the Hampton Roads, Virginia communities.
The Foundation's goal is to equip mothers with those tools that will enable them to become self-sufficient. Through the provision of supportive relationships, quality resources, and life-skills training, Still Hope Foundation - a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity - seeks to ensure that every mom receives the opportunity to build and maintain a successful family unit.
Our programs and services are broad (basic parenting skills, continuing education options and financial literacy) and our clientele varies from teen and divorced mothers to widowed women suddenly faced with the responsibility of raising children alone.
We believe that any mother, irrespective of her socio-economic status, can benefit from the guidance and support of our Foundation. Consequently, a mother's socio-economic level is not the sole factor used by Still Hope to determine eligibility for our programs and services. Our services will be all inclusive for "all mothers."
Our mission is to empower, assist, and enhance the lives of single mothers and their families. Still Hope Foundation, Inc. believes that by equipping single parent women with the necessary knowledge, resources, and support system, we can aid them in moving forward to a place of self reliance and sufficiency; thereby allowing them to achieve the ultimate goal of sustaining a successful family.
